Wednesday afternoon at 1620 hrs Company 1 was dispatched to 8678 Poindexter Road for a  reported structure fire.  Upon arrival, County FR4 reported the house fully involved with heavy fire on alpha side. County FR1 assumed command upon his arrival on the alpha side of the structure.
Two 1 3/4" handlines were initially deployed from Engine 6 in a defensive mode, but with the heavy fire the handlines were not making progress and a 2 1/2" line was placed in service.  A dump tank was set-up for water supply and a tanker shuttle was initiated.  Approximately 45 mins after the 2 1/2" line was deployed the fire was knocked down. The unstable condition of the structure along with the many additions made the overhaul operation very extensive. Engine companies from Trevilians Co.6, Zion Crossroads Co.7, Mineral Co.2, Holly Grove Co.4, Gordonsville Co.24, Palmyra Co.1 and personnel from Louisa County Emergency Services assisted Company 1 in operations.  Around 2145 command was terminated and units were released.
