A magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck the Louisa area on Tuesday, August 23, at 1:51p.m. (EDT), causing moderate shaking and potentially significant damage, and was felt throughout the east coast. There have been several aftershocks felt through out the area. Louisa County Fire and Ems Agencies stayed busy yesterday answering Alarm calls, Residential-Smell of gas, Structural Collapse, and many other types of incidents. Teamwork between many different agencies allowed all incidents to be handled swiftly and accordingly.
