Louisa's Burn Building Dedicated to Chief Perkins
Saturday, September 11th, 2010

On Saturday after 9/11 rembrance ceremonies Louisa County Fire Training Center's new burn building was dedicated to Chief Robert "Perk" Perkins. His goal for fifteen years has been to establish a fire training center for Louisa County. After many false starts there is now a training building and a new state of the art "burn building" because of his vision. Chief Perk has served the county since 1942 as a firefighter and has been Chief of Louisa Company One since 1975.

The dedication ceremony followed a barbeque picnic provided by the Fire & Emergency Services Department. County volunteer and career fire and rescue personnel and their families were joined by members of the Board of Supervisors and chiefs from surrounding counties for a great picnic meal for Patriots Day.
